“I believe in the power of play-based learning, as it fosters creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and social skills.”

I began my career in early learning in 2017, starting as a student eager to make a difference in young children’s lives. What initially inspired me to pursue this career was witnessing the incredible impact that early childhood education has on a child’s development. Seeing children flourish in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Throughout my career, I have learned that every child is unique, with different strengths, interests, and learning styles. This understanding has shaped my approach to education-ensuring that each child receives personalised support to help them grow and thrive. I believe in the power of play-based learning, as it fosters creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and social skills. My focus is on creating an inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

I often explain to families that enrolling their child in a dedicated early childhood education and care centre provides unique advantages that complement home learning. In our centre, children engage in structured, play-based activities designed to enhance their cognitive, language, social, and problem-solving skills. They benefit from interacting with peers, developing communication and collaboration skills that are essential for school readiness and future success. While learning at home is valuable, our centre offers a rich and diverse environment with qualified educators who tailor learning experiences to each child’s needs. We ensure that every child builds the confidence and resilience needed to navigate the next stages of their educational journey.

At Creative Garden Berwick, we are fortunate to have a team of 20 dedicated and passionate professionals with Certificate III, Diploma, and Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualifications. Our multicultural team brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and diverse perspectives, all working together to create a warm, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for the children in our care.

As a Centre Manager, I place great emphasis on fostering strong relationships with our families. Open communication, mutual respect, and understanding are key to ensuring a positive experience for both parents and children. I am always available to listen, support, and provide guidance to families, helping them navigate the early childhood education journey with confidence. We also offer family engagement initiatives, regular updates, and opportunities for parents to participate in their child’s learning experience. By working together, we can create a supportive and enriching environment where children thrive both at home and in the centre.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Creative Garden Berwick early learning centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Berwick, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our sustainability program features a Bush Tucker Garden where children learn about native plants and their traditional uses. Two aquariums and resident stick insects offer hands-on learning about marine life and ecosystems. We also incorporate natural resources into our activities and encourage families to contribute recyclable materials.

Inclusion

Our teaching philosophy is grounded in respect, inclusiveness, and a child-led, play-based approach. Our educators foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel confident to explore, ask questions, and take risks in their learning.

STEM

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

Age-appropriate early learning

We provide learning experiences tailored to each stage of your child’s development. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and growing independence.

Inclusive support for every child

At Creative Garden Berwick, we collaborate with families to create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) that capture each child’s strengths, goals, and areas where extra support may be needed. Our educators regularly observe and reflect on each child’s growth, using these insights to adapt learning experiences that are engaging, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate.

For children with additional needs, we work closely with families and external specialists to develop tailored support strategies that enable full participation in our program. Educators use targeted techniques, modify the environment as needed, and provide appropriate resources to help each child thrive. For children learning English as an additional language, we support language development through visual cues, simplified language, and interactive experiences. We also celebrate each child’s culture and home language, helping them build confidence and connection as they grow and learn in a nurturing and respectful setting.

She’s been in the Nursery Room since she was about 10months old. We are always kept in the loop with what’s happening with her, she eats well in the group environment, she’s sleeps well. And has so many opportunities to engage in independent and structured play and learning. Shekoo & Anne, are the main educators in her room and they are the kindest, most hard working child care professionals! The centre is clean and simple, not cluttered and the space is used well! The outdoor areas are really age appropriate. The meals are fab! And the incursions are regular and interesting for the kids! And the educators! They are always delighted to see our little girl and give us an update on pick up. They know the children well and definitely have all the children’s best interests at heart. With clear boundaries while also being kind and consistent attachment figures. Love this place! Hope our little family can stay with the centre until school time!

See more I had to put my little one in childcare earlier than I had planned, however the staff here are so great that I have no regrets. Before your child starts childcare they ask you to bring them in for one hour for approximately five sessions. This is fantastic because it gets your child used to the environment and you get to see how the staff and children interact with each other. I got to see the beautiful relationships that the staff had formed with the children and I can honestly say that they treat the children like their own. They have daily educational activities and the environment is very clean. One of the things that I love most about this centre is that staff are from all different cultural backgrounds which is a really beautiful thing as your child gets to form connections with educators from all over the world. The educators here are so lovely, talented and caring I can't recommend this place enough!

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Creative Garden uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Creative Garden is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
