Childcare and kindergarten in Coombabah, QLD

Creative Garden Coombabah offers long day care and a kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Coombabah, Runaway Bay, Hollywell, Arundel, Paradise Point, Biggera Waters, Helensvale, Labrador, Hope Island and Parkwood on the Gold Coast.

Bush Kindy, park outings and outdoor play

Children explore large outdoor spaces with shade trees, bushy gardens, water play, mud kitchens, loose parts, vegetable gardens, worm farms and composting. Children aged 3 to 5 also take part in weekly Bush Kindy excursions, while nursery and toddler children enjoy regular pram-based park outings.

Spacious indoor rooms with calm areas

Our indoor rooms are spacious and set up for both individual and group learning. Calm areas help children regulate and reset, while art, craft, sensory play and open-ended resources give children different ways to create, explore and follow their interests.

Long-standing educator team

Our long-standing team has educators with between 3 and 19 years of service at the centre. Educators speak languages including Bahasa, Portuguese and Mandarin, helping children and families feel understood, included and welcome.

Individual learning and inclusion support

Each child has an Individual Learning Plan shaped by their interests, strengths, developmental needs and family input. Our centre also works with Inclusion Support Queensland, the NDIS and allied health professionals when children need extra help.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our Government-approved kindergarten program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children build confidence for school through play, routines, friendships, transition statements, lunchbox days and visits from local school staff.

Music, sports, language and community

Children take part in RAMSR music and movement across all rooms, and kindergarten children enjoy the Jumping Jims sports program. The program also includes language learning, local visitors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and community connections.

Fresh meals by our qualified chef

Our qualified chef prepares breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack each day. Meals are planned for variety, nutrition and children’s enjoyment, with allergies, dietary requirements, preferences and cultural needs catered for.

Family updates and communication

Families contribute to Individual Learning Plans from the day their child starts, helping educators understand each child’s interests, strengths and needs. Families also stay connected through educator conversations, learning documentation, app updates and centre events.

Talia

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
"I want children to develop the confidence to try, the resilience to keep going, the kindness to care for others and a belief in what they are capable of."

I have worked in early childhood education since 2017 and joined Creative Garden Coombabah in 2026. What I love most about early childhood education is being part of the years when children are discovering so much about themselves and the world around them. I believe children learn best when they feel secure, known and confident to explore, ask questions and learn through play.

My approach is to recognise each child as an individual, with their own personality, interests, strengths and way of learning. I want children to develop the confidence to try, the resilience to keep going, the kindness to care for others and a belief in what they are capable of.

As a Centre Manager, I am also passionate about developing educators. I believe a strong team creates a strong centre, so I lead with compassion, consistency and purpose while encouraging educators to share ideas, build on their strengths and continue growing in their practice.

Families are an important part of how I lead the centre. I value open communication, trust and collaboration, and want families to feel heard and respected. I believe families know their children best, and working together helps us provide care and learning that reflects each child as an individual.

My goal is to create a community where children feel they belong, families feel confident in the people caring for them, and educators feel proud of the work they do every day.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Coombabah, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

At our Coombabah early education centre, we’ve implemented a recycling program that families can contribute to, with children using these materials for art, crafts, and various activities. Children learn about sustainability through recycling, family-contributed materials, vegetable gardens, worm farms, composting and cooking experiences. Our centre is also working with Uncle Allan, an Aboriginal elder, to plan a bush tucker garden.

Community engagement

We regularly welcome visits from community services, dancers, and librarians, enriching the children’s learning experience. Our adventures beyond the centre help children discover and learn about their local environment. Students from Coombabah High School visit every Wednesday to read with our Kindergarten children, fostering a strong connection between the older students and our young children.

Culture, language and communication

Children learn through language experiences, stories, music, group discussions and community connections. Our centre is part of the local Reconciliation Networking Group Mobo Jarjums, and educators value the languages and cultures children bring from home.

STEM

STEM and science experiences are embedded across the rooms through building, experimenting, investigating and hands-on play. Sensory play, loose parts and outdoor learning give children time to test ideas, solve problems and work with others.

The centre is always clean, well organised, and welcoming. The educators create supportive, inclusive environments where children of all abilities and backgrounds are valued and encouraged to thrive. Communication is a real strength — the team are always open to listening, collaborating, and going above and beyond to support children and families. Staff are reliable, consistent, and approachable, which makes such a difference as as healthcare specialist who comes in to support some of the children. A wonderful centre with a strong, caring team. Highly recommend.

My son had close relationships with the educators and made many friends. All the staff went above and beyond for him and were great at giving advice and suggestions. My son was well cared for. Any issues or concerns were sorted out promptly (these were minor). All of the staff were great advocates for my son and supported us in accessing the services he needed. Unfortunately, we had to move away due to the cost of living on the Gold coast otherwise he would not have left the centre. The centre and staff has made a positive impact to my son as he is still asking/talking about the staff and his friends by mentioning their names. I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work and dedication.

Every morning, every educator was always so welcoming and engaging. It really felt like a community. When we had concerns or asked for extra support, we were responded to and listened to. The children were always engaged with by the educators, so many resources for the kids to play with but also always activities set up to enrich their learning. I couldn’t recommend this centre more highly wish we hadn’t had to leave!

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Creative Garden uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Creative Garden is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
